Oshin Satija

Oshin is a certified and experienced yoga instructor practicing for over 16 years. She holds a certification (up to Level 3)from the Quality Council of India (QCI), Ministry of AYUSH (MoAYUSH), Govt. of India. Oshin has been associated with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga since 2008 and is a certified Wellness Instructor from the Institute. "I have high regards for Director sir, Dr. Ishwar V. Basavaraddi, and all the teachers of MDNIY. The Institute has strengthened my roots in yoga and given me the right direction to grow making yoga an irreplaceable part of my life. Wherever I may go, MDNIY will always hold a special place in my heart", says Oshin Satija.

Oshin is also the co-founder of the company Linking Roots running successfully in partnership. They organized and managed the International Day of Yoga 2020 with AYUSH Ministry and Yoga Certification Board. The event witnessed over 8.2 lakh participation from 17 different countries.  

Oshin took up yoga at an early age and performed as one of the four demonstrators on the First International Day of Yoga at Rajpath in 2015. The event entered the Guinness World Records. A part of the group that performed at the opening ceremony at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in 2010, Oshin has also participated and won many accolades in yoga competitions at national level. Often invited to judge yoga competitions at School level, Oshin wants to bring forward the importance of practicing Yoga with the right intention and not merely to win a competition. "It is important that the students understand that it's much more than just about winning the competition. Yoga needs to become a part of our lifestyle. Its important that we learn this art in our school life and continue to use it even after our school life is over and competitions have come to an end."

Lately, in October 2019, Oshin was also a part of the Team representing Yoga at the Paryatan Parv organized by Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India at Rajpath Lawns, New Delhi.

Teaching yoga since 6 years, she teaches personal and group classes and takes Corporate Yoga & Wellness group sessions. She has worked with reputed companies like Ford, Apollo, Deloitte, Cipla, Max, MSL group, Artionis, BCG etc.

Oshin follows a holistic approach in her class. She has a strong hold over the knowledge of Hatha yoga, Meditation, Pranayam along with Mudra and Bandh.

Oshin holds a B. Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering, but decided to follow her true passion, that lies in yoga and wellness.

Going ahead, she pursued her Post graduation in Yoga from Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhan Samsthana (S-VYASA) in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Every person is different and we particularly focus on what is right for your body and that you practice yoga with correct alignment respecting your own body capacity. We move with awareness, seeking permission from the body before pushing ourselves beyond our limits.

Regular Group Training Session 

With a collective energy, the class, takes a wholistic route with the inclusion of all elements of yoga.

We Include practice of Asana to relax, heal and strengthen the physical body.

We practice Pranayam & Mudra to balance our subtle level energies through breath and hand gestures. Mudra works on our inner body elements helping us remove the problems we don't even know are developing inside.

And finally, our mental medicine, and answer to all our problems, we meditate to rejuvenate our whole system inside out.

In our classes, we are going to make the most pragmatic use of practicing as a group and making each and every minute of the class experience worthwhile. To have a yoga group, gives us a comfortable and honest space to be ourselves. Whether known or unknown to each other, as we advance on this health conscious experience together, we build a highly positive bond with one another that helps us stay focused on the path. It makes us more accountable and mindful for the steps that we take towards our health.

In a Therapeutic Class, dealing with medical issues, we take care of the basics and alongside ensure recovery in the issues we face as well as ensure you practice the regime you enjoy the most.

Through the classes, we build on what is needed and works best for all the practitioners. It makes us more accountable and mindful for the steps that we take towards our health.

On Yoga

Yoga is not just Asana. By synonymously using the terms Yoga and Asana, we have reduced the meaning of Yoga to merely Physical exercise. It is a myth that you have to be flexible to be a good yogi. Your flexibility quotient doesn't define your progress in Yoga. Whereas being cordial with the society, with yourself, every deed of benevolence defines your progress in Yoga. How we manage our negative emotions in difficult times is the actual test of our practice.

If any day, you decide to bring a meaningful change in your life, Yoga is the single most strong medium that holds in it the potential, to turn your life around.

Our body is constantly speaking to us. Through Yoga we learn to listen to our body. Unfortunately, in the continuous noise of the outside, noise of our own mind, we fail to listen to it. Yoga helps us sit and settle in the silence with ourselves. And these moments with self bring us closer to our authentic observer (The Knower). When we just be our authentic self, our true self... we are at ease. And at ease, the mind is calm and relaxed. With this begins our journey into meditation. With practice we aim to enter in Meditation, beyond mind, beyond mindfulness... into meditation.

Yoga induces tranquility on our mental and physical level. Given the importance of practicing yoga right, with right intention and right mental and physical alignment, we first work on getting our basics right including Sukshma Vyayama (Subtle warm up practices), Sthul vyayama (Gross body warm up practices), basic Asanas (As per common yoga protocol) and Surya & Chandra Namaskar paying attention to the nitty-gritty details of each practice.

Along with Asana, we focus on 10 basic Pranayama (Breathing Practices) with the right breathing ratio and variation as per your capacity so that we grow gradually and go into a deeper inner journey.

We also work on our body through Mudras (Hand Gestures) which work on our inner body elements subtly helping us remove the problems we don't even know are developing inside. Every issue/disease we suffer from on the outside at our physical body starts inside with a small anomaly function of the inner body. Mudras help to cut these at an early stage and save us from later repercussions.

The concept of Mudras itself is very vast, hence we again customise it as per your personal problems and issues you face, not just physically but also mentally.

Mudras can work on our stress levels,, anxiety, anger, positivity, intuition, confidence etc and also on lifestyle disorders like Thyroid, Hypertension, Diabetes, Allergy, Varicose veins etc.
